Generally speaking, adversity is bad.  It is the world trying to get in your way and stop you from succeeding.  However, think of how adversity has helped you…

• If you have never really had to struggle, you have probably never really learned anything.
• If you have never been knocked down, you have never had to recover and get back up.
• The more adversity you have faced, the more you have tried to do great things.
• When things are not rosy, you find out who you friends are.

… and why am I writing about this in a Buzz Marketing Blog?

#5 The more you overcome, the more great stories you have to tell, and that other people will tell about you.  We all love those stories where people maxed out their credit cards and were down to the last dime and then hit it big.  We crave these stories.  They are what give hope to people trying new things.

Sure, it is probably only one person’s opinion.  But that is how this all works, one person at a time.

We also made it on the front page of BlogNetGuide.com and we made it as one of the blogs on the featured blogs (in rotation) on Blog Catalog.  It is a good week.

I have gotten some emails asking how we got this exposure.  600+ posts in 2+ years and I have enjoyed writing every one of them.

A while back I wrote about the z-list, which has vastly improved my technorati ranking.

Just a funny story for you that you may appreciate if you have considered blogging but have not taken the leap yet.  Last night Mike Sansone replied to my email where I thanked him for writing a Buzzoodle Buzz Marketing testimonial.  He is in Des Moines, Iowa. 

He replied back to me and asked my why I’d never met Chris Brown, another renound marketing blogger.  She is in Hudson and I am in Kent, 10 minutes apart.

So instead of making an excuse, I emailed her and we had coffee today.  We may collaborate on some things in the future.

Blogging, more than any other thing I have done, has created lots of things just like this.  You put yourself out there, build relationships, and anyone might introduce you to anyone else.  Even someone just down the street.

Cord Silverstein (Deadhead Marketing Blogger) has tagged my blog.  He has asked me to write 5 things most people do not know about me and then forward the request to them.  Another viral blog thing (I seem to be getting a lot recently, which may be why traffic is up.)  Thanks Cord.

I will keep these brief as you are probably here to read about buzz, not boring me.

1. My 9 year old daughter has her own business and is more famous than me.
2. I thought blogging was stupid the first few years it was out.
3. I have a degree in technology and do not like technology very much.  (Just when it does not do as I tell it.)
4. I have eaten fried crickets and beef tongue tacos.
5. I have been an entrepreneur for 7 years and I think I am ruined.  I cannot imagine working for someone again.

A Marketing Blog Called the Viral Garden is leading the charge of listing the top 25 marketing blogs. And another more interesting charge, the notable z-listers. I moved from a Blogspot blog to this Word Press blog a while back and I knew it would hurt my traffic. I accepted it and got on with life. Thus, I am more a z-lister now than before.

The cool thing the viral garden is doing is asking people to put up his list of notable z-list blogs on your blog, if you have one. Just copy and paste. Blogs are given rank by traffic and by links to the blog. I love this viral, grass roots effort to help people find good blogs that have less buzz at this point. I love it more because I am on the list. Here it is.
