One thing that I really enjoy, but also gives me headaches, is the many different ways that I make money for my business. I am a firm believer that you have to focus on one very successful way to make money and build that up and automate it. If you try to do too many things you will probably be failing at most of them.
Then again….
Let’s say you have a successful business or maybe you are just working a day job and want to dabble at night. What ways are there to make money?
This is not exclusively Internet Income – I am going to mention some things like speaking and books, but the funny thing about those is that my speaking leads usually come via my marketing speaker website. And my book would have never been so easy and profitable had it not been for print on demand and amazon as my main book store. So even those areas that are not direct internet money making strategies can still be influenced by them.
Here are some other ways to add revenue to your life or business:
- Create a membership site – yes, this is one of the ways I make money.
- Build up a newsletter following and sell products to them.
- Blogging – Yes, you can make money lots of ways with blogging.
- Consulting and Development
- Webinars
- Affiliate Income
- Set up an eCommerce Store and sell eBooks, Etc.
- Set up your own Reseller Program for Web Tools
These are just some of the revenue sources I have. Some are very small and some do very well for me. And yes, I do have my main business that is doing very well, but it is not that much more work to add many of these things to my daily effort. In fact, many of these things not only produce side income for me but they also help sell the main company.

I create membership sites for a lot of different things. When I first got started creating membership sites, it was because I took a course called Teaching Sells. You can see the teaching sells video here.
The one thing I did not love about Teaching Sells is that it suggested using Moodle as your membership site software. After using 6 different membership site software solutions, I found Wishlist Member and once I made that change I was able to create new, profitable niche membership websites in MUCH less time.
But don’t take that the wrong way, the training I got from Teaching Sells was very helpful. Thinking through how to structure your content and what kind of tools you can add to your membership site is very important and will help you minimize your expenses (by avoiding costly mistakes) and maximize profitability.
Go take a look at Teaching Sells and get the free membership website report.

Measuring Buzz Marketing results is all about proper lead generation strategies and having a sales process.
All too often, people want Buzz Marketing and they think that if there is a lot of buzz, things will just happen.
Sometimes that may be true – but more likely you willl generate some interest that will quickly fade and result in little actual ROI. However, if you craft a lead generation technique and then use Buzz Marketing to enhance the exposure of your lead capture tool, you can show a huge ROI.
What this means is that you are not doing a Buzz Marketing Campaign unless it is part of a well crafted sales process. Buzz Marketing and Social Media are great for getting people to come to the top of your sales funnel and peer down. But unless your sales funnel is good at generating leads and following the sales process through to a transaction, you are going to be spinning your wheels trying to grow your business on casual interest and no clear outcome.
To counter this probelm, work first on perfecting your lead capture and sales process. You can use something like aWeber to capture information and build a list. You can get a CRM and build a better sales process. There are many, including SalesForce, Zoho, vTiger and SugarCRM. I personally have used all of these and currently use SugarCRM on Bluehost and used oDesk to hire a programmer to set it up for me.
Set up was under $200 and monthly is less than $10. Not bad to get a tool that is helping me grow my business very fast.
Lead Generation and Sales must be your first focus if you are looking for ways to increase revenue. Get those processes well defined and proven, and then invest in Buzz Marketing, Viral Marketing or any other interest creating technique you want.
