Great reminder and also, it is fun work to create press releases, join social groups, send important email updates and watch the buzz grow.
In the more traditional methods of marketing you get to communicate with your clients and receive their valuable feedback.
That is the most important and is often forgotten.
Thanks for this post

Pierre - Excellent point - In fact, I will be buying many more old sites in the future after seeing the results from one. By direct, you do not mean a redirect. You mean (I think) that you would create another expert site and heavily push people to the primary site.

Zanade - Thanks. We are all falling into that trap of looking for the next thing and forgetting about tried and true methods - even if they area a little stale, it does not mean they do not work.

These are great points! Oftentimes we forget the old or even the last twenty minutes when it comes to social media, networking or anything online because things are constantly changing. It's so funny that I forgot all about press releases; they are so important no matter what social networking platform you or your company is on.

Great reminder. New technology doesn't mean that we ahve to let everything else go by the wayside. I like your comment on the Old Websites. If you don't have an old website you can always buy one at www.old-domain-finder.com and use it to redirect traffic to your young site.
