I read Terry Dean regularly.
Other than that, I am not focused on making money on the internet as much as I am focused on buzz for organizations.
I think the big question is: Is your main focus making money on the internet? Or is it building a great audience and selling them things they will value?
If you chose making money, they you are looking for many quick things you can do to create some cash flow. If you chose building a niche, then you will take longer but have a very powerful asset for the future.
