OK, maybe I am old, but I find instant messaging too distracting and I never use it any more. I also do not allow it in the workplace because people were chatting with people and I tend to hire polite, nice people that do not know how to write. “I am at work, leave me the f*** alone!”  Even I couldn’t write it. 

So I saw Twitter a while back and thought it was cute but not something for me.  A few years ago I saw these online diary things called blogs and I thought they were not for me as well, but that is another story.

Then I was reading the Micro Persuasion blog and Steve Rubel seems to really like it, and rumor has it he is a smart guy.  He seems to really love Twitter.

Since I have been wrong at least once in the past, I have commited to trying twitter for 2-3 months.  – You can see it on the left of this blog, and it tells you what I am doing right this second….more or less.

I am going to use it and build a community in its system.  If I get more readers and more blog traffic, I will consider it a success.  If I get lots of messages that interupt my day, I will consider it a failure.  I will let you know.

In the mean time, let me know what you think of it and if you have had some experiences with it (good or bad)
