A – List, Z- List

A Marketing Blog Called the Viral Garden is leading the charge of listing the top 25 marketing blogs. And another more interesting charge, the notable z-listers. I moved from a Blogspot blog to this Word Press blog a while back and I knew it would hurt my traffic. I accepted it and got on with life. Thus, I am more a z-lister now than before.

The cool thing the viral garden is doing is asking people to put up his list of notable z-list blogs on your blog, if you have one. Just copy and paste. Blogs are given rank by traffic and by links to the blog. I love this viral, grass roots effort to help people find good blogs that have less buzz at this point. I love it more because I am on the list. Here it is.

Shotgun Marketing Blog
BrandSizzle
bizsolutionsplus
Customers Rock!
Being Peter Kim
Two Hat Marketing
The Emerging Brand
The Branding Blog
CrapHammer
Drew’s Marketing Minute
Golden Practices
Viaspire
Tell Ten Friends
Flooring the Consumer
On Influence and Automation
Kinetic Ideas
MSCO
Buzzoodle
NewsPaperGrl

Nice idea and I am looking forward to visiting all these blogs.

PS: Mike at Converstations is the one responsible for getting me on the list and I own him a big thanks. He has some excellent articles over there as well, that fit perfectly with what I write about.?

Hey Ron — This is a great list of new and familiar blogs we read/feed. Thanks to your posts, we found out that Viaspire made the list as well! We’re honored to have made the alpha-list, z-ranking and all! :)

Mike Sansome is a great “connector.” We always appreciate his generosity and collection of great info and sites on his radar! :)

    Ron,

I suppose that I should point out that the MSCO blog is actually titled, Unconventional Thinking.

However, most people know Mark Stevens from his books, Your Marketing Sucks, and Your Management Sucks.

We’re working on an appropriate post to commemorate this event. You’ll see it soon.

    Thanks,
    Chris Kieff, Dir. Internet Mktg.

  3. Ron – You’re no Z-lister to me, though I guess with the lost Google juice, you may be for now. Not for long though. You are a genius to me!

You are too kind, Phil. Technorati does not lie, I suck!

  5. Thanks very much for the mention!

Thanks so much for the mention. It’s great to get this kind of recognition. As well, seeing all of the other blogs has been great. Lot’s of exposure for everyone.

    Regards,
    Doug

Can a site acheive viral marketing when it doesn’t sell or advertsing anything? This is an interesting question, but then again, how many sites are there that offers no ads, no memberships, nothing of the sort?

That’s exactly what http://www.KeyFess.com has done. An online confession site that offers its visitors a ad free anonymous site where they can post, read & vote on confessions, rants and secrets.

After only two months this site receives almost 10k new visitors a day and has reached addictive levels.

Prior to Oct 2006, a search on Google for “Keyfess” yielded zero results now there are over 3000 results, all this while it has a zero page rank? Well, it is only 2 months old, it will be interesting to see where it is on its first anniversary!

I must “keyfess”, it is refreshing to frequent a site that strictly wants to entertain its visitors and asks for nothing in return.

“Never underestimate the power of a small group of dedicated people to change the world. Indeed, it’s all that ever have.”

The Z-list is the embodiment of this quote. Thanks for adding us.

    Thanks,
